Anshin School of Karate is dedicated to the promotion of Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu karate in Canada under the direction of Master Takayoshi Nagamine, Ryu-Kyu Kobudo Hozon Shin Ko Kai under Sensei Yoshiko Dometrich.

Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu karate is an Okinawan martial art with a long history and tradition. It was founded by Grand Master Shoshin Nagamine and the federation is currently headed by his son, Master Takayoshi Nagamine. Practice in tradition is the foundation of this style of karate, rather than a display for tournament.

Ryu-Kyu Kobudo Hozon Shin Ko Kai refers to the preservation and promotion of the old fashion weapons of the Ryu Kyu Islands. Originally founded by Taira Shinken, the organization was passed down to Akamine Eisuke Sensei who passed it to Yoshiko Dometrich, one of twelve original deshi. Sensei Dometrich, is Kyoshi 8th Dan and head of United States under Akamine Eituke since 1977. Kyoshi Dometrich teaches this historical kobudo throughout United States and Canada to more than 60 dojo.

Anshin School of Karate is one of only 4 schools in Canada to be a member of Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu karate under Master Nagamine Takayoshi. The chief instructor at Anshin Karate is Sensei Steve Trombley who is dedicated to carefully passing the knowledge of both karate and kobudo to his students.
